Martello Limited - Our Objectives

Martello are committed to providing our customers with the most experienced technical advice, the most advanced materials and excellent customer service. We do this by following a philosophy of continuous professional development, in-house quality control procedures and a corporate idealogy of teamwork which has lead to the development of the following:

1. Speed - Our rapid tooling process (Thin-Rim®) means first-off parts can be available within two weeks from receipt of an order.

2. Choice - Because we operate as an RP Bureau we can offer access to a range of RP materials and recommend the most suitable resin for SLA/SLS masters. Parts can now be built in-house on our SLA 250 or out sourced to approved contractors if necessary for high resolution builds / material requirements. To complement our ThinRim® process we also offer a range of low volume production technologies such as investment and sand castings and low volume injection moulding.

3. Experience - our team of engineers have over 80 years collective experience of rapid prototyping, low volume production and engineering. We can advise on technical issues regarding material properties and design for production and deliver on the most cost effective technology for your project.

4. Flexibility - modifications to your designs, re-issues and re-designs of parts are easliy incorporated into your products life-cycle by our experienced engineers and our comprehensive machining and modelling facilitites.

5. Unique - Martello have developed a unique range of polyurethane resin systems suitable for low volume production and rapid prototyping. Our resins are specially formulated to our own specification and quality tested to ensure they meet the highest standards for mechanical and cosmetic properties. This is what defines the Thin-Rim® process.

6. Customer Service - We constantly review our services to ensure that your needs are fulfilled by our dedicated team targeted to deliver to your requirements.

About Martello

History

Martello Limited (formerly Martello Design Ltd) was formed in 1992 by members of the design and development team of a large international telecommunications company. With their wide experience of product development and mechanical design, the company expanded into Rapid Prototyping and vacuum casting, providing a bureau service for prototypes and short run batch production in polyurethane resins.

Martello moved to larger premises in 2000, when we introduced our High Speed CNC Machining Centre, and at the same time brought our traditional modelmaking services in-house.

With characteristic innovation and the desire to continuously improve their service, the team at Martello developed a unique production process named Thin-Rim® to provide their customers with a cost effective solution to low volume product manufacture.

Following the successful completion of the development of the Thin-Rim® process, the company changed its name in September 2003, dropping "Design" from its name and activities. Martello is now focused on being the leading manufacturer of plastic pieceparts for prototypes and low volume production.
